#sol15: March 25, 2015 – Heaven often is just a pile of chocolate wrappers…

IMG_0826

I meant to eat one…just a little treat

at the end of a very long day.

But, 50 Feature Article final edits,

many reading and writing

conferences,

two parent phone calls,

five student melt downs

and four student

talking-to’s

later,

I discovered this –

the shameful vestiges

of a high-stress day.

This is just to say,

the luscious wafer covered

chocolates

did the trick.

Heaven often is

just a pile

of chocolate wrappers.

  1. If you don’t want evidence lying around, switch to M & Ms, buy the big bag. Or maybe not. Chocolate: the stress reliever of teachers. Hope there’s less stress today.

  2. At one point in this poem I was reading it just like I would read the Partridge in a Pear Tree. And you can never have one kit kat bar! My guilty pleasures are the mini york patties.

  3. This happens to me with potato chips…the only thing left is the empty two-pound bag. Whatever gets you through the night, huh? A girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do to survive.
